Our organisation

Museum de Fundatie connects people with art, makers and each other. With our broad collection of art and design and our programming, we look at the world from Overijssel and engage in dialogue with our audience. Our core values are: open, dynamic, connecting and curious.

Museum de Fundatie is a place for inspiration, dialogue, wonder and debate. As a home for makers from all disciplines, we help drive art and culture in the region and beyond. We care about what is happening in society, and through art we play a connecting role.

We aim to be as accessible as possible, both physically and digitally. We do this in collaboration with local communities in Zwolle and Overijssel, and in conversation with the international community. We support research into our collection and offer a platform for experiment and new ideas. Art brings many perspectives. We include these perspectives in our programme and in our research.

We work from themes and programme lines, and our activities take place both inside and outside the walls of our museum locations. We are committed to a future-proof cultural sector, with education, collaboration and sustainability as key pillars. We celebrate art, and everyone who is involved in it or curious about it.
