Kasteel het Nijenhuis vanuit de lucht

Historical and botanical guided tour

as part of Open Monument Day

Just like the castle, the estate surrounding it also has significant cultural and historical value. Over the centuries, the garden has undergone many changes, reflecting the tastes of the time. Traces of these changes can still be seen today. The current garden has many special features to offer, such as stinsenplaten, tulip trees, catalpas and swamp cypresses. You will also discover what a menagerie and a berceau are.

Storytellers Paul Journee, collections officer at Museum de Fundatie, and Harjan Inkelaar, green advisor for the province of Overijssel, will take you on a journey through this remarkable story, from the past to the present.

The guided tour is in Dutch and is aimed at adults.
The tour is from 11:30 to 12:30.

Haven’t booked but fancy joining in? Ask at the ticket office if there are any places left.
