Every first Friday of the month is Fundatie Friday! Between 5:00 PM and 9:00 PM, you can enjoy a diverse program for free.
This Fundatie Friday coincides with the exhibition Cremer in Context - The Early Years.
Artist Jan Cremer was a great lover of jazz music. That is why there is a jazz performance tonight by trumpeter Rémi Keupink and guitarist Jim van de Klundert. During this concert, they will play the music Jan Cremer loved: Blue Note and Miles Davis's first quintet, in which John Coltrane also plays an important role. Since the music of these two greats was a source of inspiration for both musicians, it was a logical step to perform this concert together. During the performance, enjoy classics that are not to be missed in the repertoire of Miles Davis and John Coltrane.
Program:
18:30 – 19:00 uur Flash tours of the Cremer in Context exhibition
19:30 – 20:15 uur Live jazz music
Rémi Keupink (2001) is an enthusiastic Dutch jazz trumpeter from Zwolle. He is currently pursuing a Master's in Jazz Trumpet at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. Prior to this, he completed his Bachelor's in Jazz & Pop at the ArtEZ Conservatory in Zwolle. As a trumpeter, Rémi is part of the leading Millennium Jazz Orchestra (under the direction of Joan Reinders). As an organizer, Rémi is the chairman of the Jazz in Zwolle Foundation and hosts his own jam session in a Zwolle café.
Jim van de Klundert (1998) is a Dutch jazz guitarist and composer with an authentic lyrical playing style rooted in the jazz tradition. His love for music began at the age of twelve, when he was captivated by the playing of a fingerstyle guitarist. His passion for jazz emerged a few years later, when he first heard the music of Django Reinhardt. This opened the door to the greats of jazz history, such as saxophonist John Coltrane. He graduated from various conservatories in the Netherlands, including ArtEZ (Zwolle), the Royal Conservatory (The Hague), and Codarts (Rotterdam).
This program is a collaboration with the Jazz in Zwolle Foundation.
