This Fundatie Friday ties in with the exhibition Cremer in Context - The Early Years. Artist Jan Cremer was a great lover of jazz music. That is why there is a jazz performance tonight. Bassist Remco van Vugt and saxophonist Luuk de Vries have joined forces to tackle the Blue Note repertoire. For both musicians, this repertoire is deeply rooted in their playing, and they are able to interpret it in their own unique way.

Remco van Vugt is a bassist from Zwolle. He studied double bass and bass guitar at the ArtEZ Conservatory in Zwolle and is currently active with various jazz & pop bands. For instance, he plays with Vangrail and the jazz-fusion band Vlot, and participates in the theater show Feeling Good.
Luuk de Vries is a 28-year-old saxophonist from Zwolle who graduated from the jazz and pop program at the ArtEZ Conservatory in Zwolle in June 2023. Over the past few years, he has established himself as a versatile saxophonist who is proficient in all genres. In addition to the saxophone, he also plays the clarinet and flute. He plays with various bands, such as VLOT, New Sound Jazz Machine Big Band, and Millennium Jazz Orchestra, and has previously played with Jong Metropole Orkest, among others. He draws his influences from the playing of saxophonists such as Hank Mobley, Dexter Gordon, and Sonny Rollins, but also from saxophonists such as Michael Brecker and Bob Reynolds.
Fundatie Friday gives you free admission to the museum and offers a program including live music, performances, lectures, guided tours, and interviews, all tailored to the theme of the current exhibitions.
